WHO chief and regional health ministers deliver aid

Описание: (14 Mar 2015) A Regional Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO) visited a camp for internally displaced persons in the Iraqi province of Dohuk on Saturday.
Dr Ala Alwan met with local health officials and visited a medicine storage facility alongside the Iraqi Health Minister Dr Adila Hammoud.
The purpose of Alawan's visit was to obtain first hand information about the health of internally displaced communities living in camps around the northern Iraqi region of Kurdistan.
The WHO also donated 15 ambulances, four mobile clinics and two trucks of lifesaving medicines to local authorities.
Tens of thousands of Iraq's Yazidi minority fled in August when the Islamic State group captured the northern Iraqi town of Sinjar, near the Syrian border.
The Sunni militants of the Islamic State group view Yazidis and Shiite Muslims as apostates, and have demanded Christians either convert to Islam or pay a special tax.
