This recording was made at the concert “Miracle Sounds of the Kantele” in Petrozavodsk in December 2020. This concert was staged by the Kantele Goes Global Project (KA 3100), funded by the Karelia CBC Programme.

Our project seeks to promote cross-border cooperation between Finnish, Russian and Karelian kantele players. We also seek to promote internationalization and popularization of kantele music worldwide by means of intercultural synthesis. We play Finnish, Russian and Karelian folk music, as well as contemporary compositions. We also try to introduce kantele into foreign cultures (North America and Far East) by using kantele as accompaniment for traditional cultural performances (i.e. dance) in recipient countries. The project's Lead Manager is Olga Vlasova from the Karelian National Ensemble "Kantele".
