I want to continue sharing a minion attack–type build that combines Rage and Shock through the use of Hateforge Moulded Mitts with the modifier “Gain Rage on Hit.” The previous video featured a Shaman minion build, so this time it will be the Lich and Varashta minion builds.
When playing Shaman, you generally don’t need to worry much about Rage uptime, so in most cases you will benefit from both Rage buffs: Commanding Rage and Warlord Berserker.
However, it’s a different story with Lich or Varashta builds. Once you reach the cap of 40 Rage, you gain the full buff from Commanding Rage, but because your Rage is already maxed, you can no longer “gain” additional Rage to activate Warlord Berserker. The solution is to wait about 5 seconds for Rage to drop and then hit again to regain Rage, or use the glove modifier “Lose all Rage on reaching Maximum Rage” to reset it.
In general, the DPS boost from 40% attack speed and 40% increased minion damage from Commanding Rage is more valuable than the 30% more attack damage from Warlord Berserker, so the choice depends on your preference. Personally, I wouldn’t use the “lose all rage” modifier.
The Gargantuan Life Flask effect can help you sustain Rage during its duration, making it easier to keep Commanding Rage benefit.
