Matt Banks from SM UK takes us round a MAN Tractor Unit which has had safety equipment installed to meet the Direct Vision Standard.
The Safe System inludes:
Nearside proximity sensors - activated with left turn indicator, below 14mph
Nearside camera - activated with left turn indicator
Internal alarm - alerting driver to vulnerable road user
External left turn warning
In-cab monitor
SM UK also installed:
Additional cab mounted worklamps
LED strobes
Beacons
Additional cameras
Suzi coupling to connect cameras and sensors on trailers to the rest of the system
