This video gives you a short guide on domestic transportation within Greenland.
In Greenland, there are no roads outside of inhabited places and there are no inter-city roads, train tracks, or Autobahn. However, there are other transportation methods in place that make it easy for you to get around and that will turn your journey into an adventure itself.

The quickest way to get around is by plane or helicopter. The domestic flights are operated by Visit Greenland, the local airline. Eventhough, for domestic flights smaller propeller planes are used, they're still too big to land in some places, which is why in addition to 14 airports there are also 47 helistops and heliports in Greenland.

If you're looking for an even more scenic journey, sea transportation is for you. As most places in Greenland are located at the coast, sailing is part of the way of life here. Sarfaq Ittuk, a passenger ferry that sails around the west coast of Greenland, makes 11 port calls in 3 days. On-board passengers overnight in comfortable cabins and have a cafeteria available that serves three meals a day. At the stops, travelers are free to explore the area by themselves or take tours.
Another way of getting around in Greenland are cruise ships which vary in size and days spent on the water. Local companies also offer charter services which are small or medium boats with a capacity of 10- 40 persons. For the adventurous traveler, there's also the possibilty of traveling by Kayak.

Traveling by foot via hiking routes is another option to get around in Greenland. In many places in Greenland, hiking paths take you from the outskirts of the town to a neighboring settlement. Depending on the route, these trips can take from a few hours to a few days.
Travel by dogsled, Greenland's original land transportation, is another way of traveling and is part cultural experience, part nature excursion. Today, a modern juxtaposition to the dog sled that serves as yet another way of transportation is the snowmobile.
