Hey Guys,
This is my first episode of Lanzarote. After hiring a scooter at Playa Blanca in south, i drove 90mins to arrive my accommodation in Orzola in the south. I paid 30Euros a night for a single room.
After check in to the hotel I drove to Jameos Del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes which are not far from each other, both these places are hardly 10mins away from each other. The swimming pool in Jameos was quite tempting but unfortunately it is only for watchign and not swimming :P.
The Cueva de Los Verdes is an amazing place as well to visit.
Jameos Del Agua:
===============
Jameos del Agua is the place on the planet where nature and man decided to embrace each other.
César Manrique knew how to imagine and transform what was the collapse of the roof of a volcanic tube through which lava flowed from the Corona Volcano, into a unique space in the world. His privileged mind and his hands full of life modeled the wild and black basalt to shape a place where harmony, beauty and peace reign. White, blue, green and black, the colors that Manrique gave to his island from him, intermingle throughout a unique route of extraordinary beauty, which leads one to dream and imagine.
Jameos del Agua is the first Art, Culture and Tourism Center created by César Manrique, and it is, for many, the paradigm of his aesthetic ideology: the harmony between nature and artistic creation.
Cueva de los Verdes:
=================
There aren’t many places that gather as many areas of interest for the cultural and natural heritage of Lanzarote as Cueva de los Verdes, a unique mythological-looking cave, full of legends and extraordinary landscape and beauty.
It came about after the eruption of the Volcán de la Corona, and it’s one of the most impressive hidden wonders in the depths of Lanzarote. It was used as a hideout by the locals who needed shelter to protect themselves from invasions and attacks of pirates coming from the north of Africa during the 16th and 17th Centuries. In the 19th Century, it became a must for travellers, experts and European scientists due to the uniqueness of this volcanic territory, named after a family that kept their cattle in the area, the story goes.
Going into Cueva de los Verdes is, without a doubt, going on a journey to the centre of the earth.
