In Meghalaya, a state of north-east India, still lives a community strongly connected to the Nature : the Khasi. The Living Root Bridges are the best exemple of this communion.
The khasi society is built on a matrilineal system, where it is not question of the domination of women over men but a way to the women to be free individual, able to stand on their feet by themselves.
But nowadays, with the coming of globalization, the roots of this community could be questioned...
Au Méghalaya, état du nord-est de l'Inde, vit une communauté encore fortement connectée à la nature qui l'entoure : les Khasi.
Les ponts vivants sont l'exemple même de cette communion.
La société khasi s'est construite sur un système matrilinéaire. Il ne s'agit pas d'une domination des femmes sur les hommes mais plutôt de permettre aux femmes de s'émanciper et de faire leurs propres choix de vie.
Mais, aujourd'hui, avec l'arrivée de la mondialisation, les fondamentaux de cette communauté pourraient bien être remis en question...
