Instead of becoming one of them, I decided to be proactive and install Tannus Armour Tire Liners, and FlatOut tire sealant (reportedly works better than Slime)! The tire liners provide a first layer of protection by preventing small objects from puncturing the tubes. The FlatOut provides a second layer of protection to seal the tube in case something longer gets through the tire liner and punctures the tube.
