Today I’m rebuilding a ridiculous $10,000 PC from 10 years ago — with a 10-core Intel i7-6950X, ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10, GTX 1080 SLI, 40TB of hard drives in RAID 0, a 1600W PSU, and one of the weirdest full-tower cases ever made: the Thermaltake Level 10 GT.

But this isn’t just a build. I cleaned the case, rebuilt the whole system, overclocked the CPU and memory, tested the 5-drive HDD RAID array against SSDs, and finally checked how this monster performs in modern games.

Was this $10,000 PC actually worth it back in 2016?
And how bad is it today?
