o Focus: The Church has always venerated the divine Scriptures just as she venerates the body of the Lord, especially in the sacred liturgy. On the road to Emmaus, Jesus reveals the unity of the "Two Tables": He sets our hearts burning by opening the Scriptures, which leads inevitably to recognising Him in the Breaking of the Bread. The written text finds its true dwelling and fulfilment in the Eucharistic presence.
