In this video, I walk you through the complete process of biasing the Custom Audio Amplifiers OD100 Classic Plus — my trusted all-round amp since 2017.
I’ve replaced the output tubes with a matched quad of Electro-Harmonix EL34s and demonstrate how to safely set the bias using a multimeter and the built-in test points on the amp.
This guide is meant for players and tech enthusiasts who want to understand how to dial in a proper idle current (around 35–38mA) for a warm, dynamic response — without risking tube or transformer stress.
⚡ Safety Note:
Tube amplifiers contain lethal voltages even when unplugged. Attempt this only if you know what you’re doing.
🎸 Gear Used:
• Custom Audio Amplifiers OD100 Classic Plus
• Electro-Harmonix EL34 tubes (matched quad)
• Fluke 87V Digital Multimeter
• Furman PL-Pro Power Conditioner
