Nicole Walters, an aspirant for holy orders in the Diocese of Atlanta and a student at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, is also pursuing a doctorate at Winebrunner Theological Seminary. Her research focuses on reinvigorating the contemplative life within the Episcopal Church to foster spiritual growth among congregations. Having initiated her theological studies post-college, Nicole left the Seminary to respond to a global Ministry call, encountering diverse expressions of Christian faith in the Middle East and South Asia.Upon returning to the US from Bangladesh, she sensed a calling to complete her Seminary degree.

Essential to Nicole's journey is the pivotal support provided by SIM, without which pursuing her studies would be unattainable. This scholarship funding serves as a constant reminder of the faithfulness of God's people, a conviction Nicole carries with her daily on campus. Viewing herself as a modest yet meaningful contributor to advancing the Church's mission, she acknowledges the enduring impact of remarkable scholars who will continue this work long after her time.

While studying alongside a passionate Next Generation committed to tradition, innovation, and expanding the Church's mission beyond physical boundaries, Nicole holds deep gratitude for the opportunities afforded her.
