Muang Sing (ເມືອງສີງ) is a small town (The home of ethnic minorities and historical town), about 60 kilometers northwest of the town of Luang Namtha and 360 kilometers northwest of Vientiane. It lies in very close proximity to the border with Yunnan, China, surrounded by mountains and rivers.
Muang Sing is also known for its morning market where the various tribal communities (Tai Lue, Tai Dam, Akha, Hmong...) gather on the edge of the town for commerce, wearing their colourful attire.
