SR71 Right Now REMIX (from CD Single)

SR71 released a CD single with this alternate version of their hit, Right Now.

Notes on the Remix of Right Now:

Main riff:

The right ear had a different riff playing. In the normal version, both ears have the main riff played by Mitch, and then both ears also have a quieter background riff played by Mark. However in the remix, there is only one of each riff, the main riff played in the left ear, and the background riff played in the right ear.

More echo on Mitch’s voice in the verses

In the original, when Mitch starts singing, “she taught me how to trust…”, Mark starts playing a background riff in both ears quietly. Once again, in the remix, Mark’s riff is just as loud, but in the left ear only. Mitch’s chords are played in the right ear only now.

In the original, when Mitch says, “You know I used to be such a nice boy”, the guitars go up to a high note. In the remix, the guitars drop off completely for a moment at this part.

Second chorus: In the remix, Mark’s playing a solo that follows Mitch’s singing. This isn’t in the original.

Different guitar tone on the solo

The bridge has an added vocal layer from Mitch, where he’s singing an octave lower.

Last chorus has an added guitar in the right ear doing a cool little extra riff

Different sound at the very end, when Mitch sings “Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah”
