Kicking off our offensive line is Tyler Kopff from Brown. The sophomore was explosive this season, totaling seven goals and 15 assists for 22 points. This placed him 5th in the conference and first overall for Brown. The Ridgewood, NJ native frequently found himself in front of the net, tallying 76 shots (2nd in ECAC), and he capitalized on power play opportunities, with five of his seven goals scored during such situations (T-1 in ECAC).
Down in Princeton, center Brendan Gorman significantly impacted the Tigers’ season. Gorman scored nine goals and 10 assists, leading Princeton in points and ranking 14th in the league. The Arlington, Massachusetts native was a force at the face-off dot, winning 203 of his 451 battles, which placed him 4th overall in the league. The junior also netted two game-winning goals against St. Lawrence and RPI.
Brandon Buhr of Union is completing our forward lineup. The junior scored 13 goals (3rd in ECAC) and added six assists. The North Vancouver, BC native averaged 0.59 goals per game, including three game-winning goals. He also achieved two impressive hat tricks this season, one against St. Lawrence and another at Cornell, making him the only ECAC player to accomplish this feat in league play.
On the blue line, Cornell’s Tim Rego is the first in our defensive pairing. In his third year with the Big Red, Rego scored three goals and 12 assists (17th in ECAC). The Mansfield, Massachusetts native finished 3rd in points for Cornell and maintained a +5 rating overall. He recorded 18 blocked shots and proved a critical asset for Cornell’s defense this season.
Next to him is John Prokop of Union. The junior netted three goals and 11 assists, including the game-winner over Brown. The Wausau, Wisconsin native averaged 0.50 assists per game, placing him among the top thirty in the ECAC, and he posted 50 shots. He concluded his season with a +7 rating overall, playing a vital role in securing a first-week playoff bye for Union.
Union’s Kyle Chauvette is in net, a junior with a 12-8-2 record who recorded a 0.905 save percentage, placing him 6th in the league. The Goffstown, New Hampshire native achieved a shutout against St. Lawrence in November and had a goals-against average of only 2.51. With 493 saves this season, Chauvette was crucial to Union’s fourth-place conference finish.
