From Solid Box to Resonant Monster / A Risky Mod (EP 02)

Описание: I modded my acoustic metal cube by cutting it open and adding springs for more resonance, sustain, and experimental sound design.

This risky instrument mod completely changed the sound and turned a solid box into a resonant object.

So, I had a finished instrument - a solid, monolithic box. No weak points and no access inside.

And then I decided to cut it open, which was kinda risky - removing one entire wall to expose the inside and attach a set of different springs. The idea was simple: more resonance, longer sustain, and new sound design possibilities.

My fear was real! Once you cut, there’s no way back...

What I got in the end was not a ruined instrument, but a better one.

The springs turned the box into a resonant object with a completely new voice - alive, unstable, expressive and perfect for experimental sound design, textures, drones, cinematic sound work.
