The Jubilee Bridge (1925–1966) was a bridge across the Nerang River in South East Queensland, Australia. The bridge connected the suburbs of Southport to Main Beach on the Gold Coast, providing the first road connection to Surfers Paradise.

The bridge was 19 feet (5.8 m) wide and built on reinforced concrete piles, mostly sunk down to a solid rock foundation. The superstructure was built from ironbark and spotted gum. The pedestrian crossing was 4 feet (1.2 m) wide and the road crossing was 13 feet 10 inches (4.22 m), sufficient for two cars to pass. The bridge rose in the middle to allow small boats to pass under it; a central span could be raised and lowered using a hand winch to allow larger vessels to pass, but the process took 25 minutes.

King's Bridge is a wrought-iron bridge crossing the South Esk River at the mouth of the Cataract Gorge in Launceston, Tasmania.

Construction of the bridge began in 1864. The bridge span was constructed in Manchester, England and was transported to Launceston for final assembly. At the time it was named the Cataract or South Esk Bridge and it was the only form of vehicular crossing of that river in Launceston.

In 1904, a second, parallel span was added to widen the bridge. This span was almost identical to the original span, but was fabricated locally in Launceston, instead of overseas.

Wreck of the Speke, Victoria

The Speke was the second largest ship-rigged vessel ever built. A three masted steel ship of 2,876 tons and 93 metres which was built in Wales in 1891. The Speke was battling headwinds and ran ashore on Phillip Island as a result of poor navigation by the captain, east of Kitty Miller Bay on 22 February 1906 while en route from Peru, via Sydney, to Geelong, in ballast to pick up a cargo of wheat. Although the Speke eventually broke up, it was extensively salvaged.
