GSG 9 has 300 employees in its ranks, which are divided into three operational detachments:
GSG 9/1 - specializes in conducting counter-terrorism operations under standard conditions, 100 personnel,
GSG 9/2 - antiterrorist actions on ships and other offshore facilities, 100 personnel
GSG 9/3 - a group of paratroopers, 50 personnel.
