You made it, speaking heroes! I’m so proud of your growth and confidence.
Your assignments this week:
Summative A (Due Tuesday, 11:55 pm)
Submit one paragraph describing what you’ll present for Summative B. Include:
Your purpose statement (what point you’re making and why).
Your target audience (from your questionnaire data).
A refined call to action that clearly wraps up your main ideas.Your paragraph should show the research you’ve done.
I’ll reply with feedback by Thursday at 11:55 pm.
Summative B
You’ll record a 6–8 minute persuasive speech using everything from Chapter 17. Remember to use:
Ethos (credibility)
Logos (logic/evidence)
Pathos (emotion/storytelling)
Counterarguments (acknowledge and respond respectfully)
Use Monroe’s Motivated Sequence (p. 309) in order. Pull in your research, feedback, and sources.
Tips:
You may use one 4x6 index card.
Please stand while speaking for better breath support and presence.
