Hosted by UB’s Blackstone LaunchPad in partnership with UB’s School of Management, and UB’s Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships, The Panasci Technology Entrepreneurship Competition brings
together UB students from all academic disciplines to pool their talents and create viable businesses in
Western New York. The competition celebrates business concepts in their earliest stages of ideation and center around sound technologies and innovations that address local and global problems. The final pitches will take
place, Tuesday, April 25th from 6-9pm in Mainstage Theatre, Center for the Arts, UB North Campus. The
grand prize is $25,000 in seed funding and $40,000 in in-kind services for the team who finishes first,
with $10,000 in funding awarded to the second-place team.
The Six finalist teams:
Liminal - A device that provides users with an easy, effective way to quit vaping using Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, gamification and other proven addiction cessation methods.
RHM Innovations - A durable medical equipment manufacturer that develops assistive bathing
technologies to reduce strain on caregivers and improve the quality of the shower for the
recipient.
Exergi - A company devoted to creating innovative renewable energy technology. The first
product available will be a compact alternative to residential solar panels.
Professionally Proud - A safe-space certification program to increase visibility and competency
of LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in professional spaces.
Sortable - An intelligent inventory-management system powered by machine learning to reduce
the cost of returns for e-commerce companies selling apparel, enabling brands to reduce
expenses and make their ventures more profitable.
Totelly Lined - A producer of adhesive thermoplastic polyurethane liners to protect the interior
of luxury handbags from everyday wear and preserve their value.
You will experience a demonstration of UB’s impact on economic development in the region. From 6-7
p.m., various UB entities and WNY Startup community partners will highlight programs that develop the
