How to Add a Lattice Trim | Tully Drapery Shop

Описание: Making velvet pillows can be hard enough but adding a lattice trim makes them even more difficult. I accidentally figured out the easiest way to sew on the lattice trim. It matters which direction the nap of the velvet is facing as you stitch the lattice trim on. This direction was easy for the left pillow but harder for the right pillow because that means I had to deal with more velvet fabric under the sewing machine, but that was worth the effort because the results were so beautiful!!! Watch how easy this lattice trim goes on with the nap facing upside down.

THEN.... watch how we join the ends of the self-welt on the diagonal. This is a bulky velvet so I wanted to join the ends of the welt with a technique that would provide the least amount of bulk. This method is much easier than it looks.
