The German city of Pforzheim has a new and innovative river surfing wave.
Installed on the Metzelgraben canal, the 4.5-meter standing wave is the result of seven years of hard work.
The local surf club - blackforestwave - teamed up with engineers, sponsors, and regional partners to build an artificial wave technology that adjusts to the river flow.
The wave's parameters can be fine-tuned and switched on and off through an app.
The new water sports attraction is likely to attract surfers and non-surfers to Pforzheim.
