We already touched on it before, but an automatic taper can be one of (if not) the most complicated tools in all of drywall, and in this video The Drywall Doctor wanted to focus on the needle that pushes the paper tape through the head, and the other mechanics that help it along. Ray points out that if even one of these small pieces or screws is loose or out of place, it can cause some pretty frustrating problems.
The Doctor's main advice when working with a drywall bazooka is trial and error; it takes time to get the feel for a tool like this and only continued practice and fiddling will allow you the perfect setting for your automatic taper.
