Try this easy little project...

Check all parts first...

Instructions...

1 boring standard guitar knob !!!
2 old bit of tin, or brass, or copper
3 draw and cut with flat scissor side
4 ...not horrible curling side
5 likely hole required, often smaller
6 the rough cutting out of shape
7 ...grind off corner edges, circle
8 then shape accurately, use blade
9 ...nice and flat around edge
10 ...shows true thickness too
11 buff any old coating off
12 polish all over, or for paint
13 slight bevel to keep edge off guitar
14 ...ready for your paint colour
15 don't forget to widen pot hole
16 ...parts ready for lining up
17 3M white out copier tape as line
18 spanner softly, align all, tighen nuts
19 pull tape horiz' from pointer
20 ...from your view, nice !!!

Simply undo rear pot' cover, align !

Use leather garden gloves !

Go make music !
