Government has reduced the statutory EPF contribution of private-sector employers and employees from the current mandated 12% to 10% for the next three months. However, for government PSUs, it will remain 12%, but PSU employees can pay 10%. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made this announcement in a press conference on Tuesday. This relief is a part of the Rs 20 lakh crore economic stimulus package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday night.
