My introductions from the last 20 years of rose breeding.

John's first book „Gardening with Old Roses" covers all the elements of design involved in planning a rose garden and in simply using roses in beds and borders. It includes rose hedges, as well as roses on walls, arches and arbours. Detailed planting plans show four different rose gardens.
Companion Planting: gives creative ideas for stunning plant associations . Perennial partners to give drifts of colour in mixed borders, climbers and dramatic foliage plants.
Directory: this beautifully illustrated catalogue illustrates 130 of the finest of old roses and their planting use. Shrub roses, climbers and ramblers and some specie roses.

Caring for Old Roses: This section, with before and after photos, demonstrates a simple and practical approach to the subject. This was once described in a review as being "Heretical" which I take as a compliment.

"Travels with my Roses" is not a practical book. Often funny, it describes some of the gardens, countries and people I have met. There is a Prince, who was bitten by a parrot , collapsing ladders, tales from Africa and exploding wasps' nests. There are also little nuggets of gardening advice. This will be "self published" in the autumn of 2012 and I would be grateful if you could indicate your interest.
This will help assess the initial print run.
