On this video, we will be making shu mai! Shu mai are a type of filled dumpling often served at dim sum (a type of Cantonese brunch meal). It is actually something that can be served anytime of the day. To make shu mai, the steps involve a filling of minced pork, mixed with other ingredients, such as shrimp, mushrooms & onions. They are all wrapped in a round sheet of dough, before being steamed in a bamboo steamer. A bamboo steamer is traditionally used, as it gives off a wonderful aroma to the shu mai, but any steamer will do. It seems like a complicated meal, but it's actually quite easy to make. So let's learn how to make shu mai!
