Описание: The Change of Guard ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan is a time-honored military tradition, symbolizing the formal handover of responsibilities between the old and new guard. Rooted in ancient customs, this ceremony has been redesigned to be more visually engaging and accessible to the public. Now held at the Forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan every Saturday at 8 AM (except on gazetted holidays), it showcases the ceremonial duties performed by the 1/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force), one of the Indian Army’s oldest and most decorated battalions. The President’s Bodyguard (PBG), established in 1773 and the Indian Army’s senior-most regiment, also plays a prominent role. The 50-minute event begins with the Ceremonial Band, followed by a parade, inspection, and the formal exchange of salutes. The highlight is the majestic equestrian display by the PBG in full ceremonial regalia, concluding with the playing of the National Anthem and a stirring display of military precision and pride.
