Handloom Weaving Factory in the District of Sirajganj ~ Weaving is a tradition of Bengal. But now we are losing this tradition. Belkuchi Upazila is famous for handloom industry. However, at present the number of power-operated handlooms is not less here.

People here fall asleep and wake up to the sound of weaving mills. According to Bangladesh Handloom and Power Loom Owners Association, there are more than three lakh looms in the weaving factories of Sirajganj District. It’s presence can be seen throughout the upazila. About five lakh weaving families are involved in this profession.

The sarees, lungis and towels produced here are sold in various markets of the country in Bangladesh.
