This is made with a drain coupler, a short piece of inch and a half PVC pipe, and a cap. The cap can be drilled and tapped for any type fitting that you may require. I put a copper extension on a PEX fitting to make a splash guard and yet keep my inch and a half air gap on the standpipe Very simple to make. The short piece of an inch and a half PVC can be drilled, milled, drilled and filed, whichever way may be convenient with the tools on hand to make the four slots in its side to create the air gap. Other than the copper and the PEX fitting, it is made for just a few dollars from scraps that you probably have lying around. I decided on a vertical entrance with the PEX fitting
to minimize splash out from the sides. The standpipe is 24 inches long and has a P-trap at its base before entering into a sewer vent pipe in my basement. I recently installed a water softener using copper tubing and pro press fittings and added a pipe electrical bonding system to maintain electrical ground continuity. The softener
drainage piping is 1/2 inch flexible PEX tubing. Hope this helps and gives you some ideas for a solution that is required by code on Water Softener installation.
