We head deep into the undergrowth of the rainforest in search of the fascinating reptiles and amphibians of the Peruvian Amazon.
Which species are to be found and which habitats do they prefer? Why are these two groups of animals being studied together at all? What insights do the collected data give us into the secret lives of reptiles and amphibians and what needs to be taken care of in the interaction between humans and animals in order to create a safe situation for both sides?
As always, we will explore all these questions and many more in the 6th episode of “Exploring Perú” where we accompany head field research coordinator Chris Ketola and the volunteers of the nature conservation organization Fauna Forever on their nightly transects to explore the herpetological biodiversity in the Peruvian lowland rainforest.
