Описание: A police officer cried out in pain as blood gushed from her broken nose after being punched while attempting to arrest two #brothers at #manchester Airport, new body camera footage reveals. PC Lydia Ward testified that she was “absolutely terrified” and had “never experienced that level of violence” during the arrest of #MohammedFahirAmaaz#, 20, and Muhammad Amaad, 26, in Terminal 2 last July.,PC Ward and two colleagues from Greater Manchester Police approached Amaaz at a ticket machine after receiving a report that a man matching his description had headbutted a customer at the Starbucks in arrivals. ,During her testimony, PC Ward explained that Amaaz allegedly resisted arrest, prompting his brother, Amaad, to intervene. The court was informed that both brothers inflicted a “high level of violence” on the officers present.,Prosecutor Adam Birkby suggested that Amaaz threw ten punches, including one that knocked PC Ward to the ground, while Amaad aimed six punches at firearms officer PC Zachary Marsden. Amaaz is also said to have kicked PC Marsden and twice elbowed firearms officer PC Ellie Cook.,PC Ward described trying to stop Amaaz from kicking PC Marsden when he suddenly turned and punched her in the face. She recalled, “All I remember is that he turned and punched me straight in the face. I can't really remember where it landed, but I know where my injuries were. I remember falling to the floor and everything went black.”,She told Birkby that the force of the blow was “really strong.” PC Ward, a former special constable with #lancashire Police who joined Greater Manchester Police in 2018, stated, “Never in my whole time in the police service had that level of violence been used against me. It felt really hard. As I regained consciousness, all I could feel was blood pouring out of my nose. I thought he had done something to my nose or face; I didn’t know what had happened.”,A jury at Liverpool Crown Court watched airport camera footage from different angles showing what the Crown described as a “high level of violence” used by the defendants against the officers. According to the prosecution, Amaaz resisted police efforts to detain him as they attempted to remove him from a payment machine to arrest him. ,Human rights lawyer Aamer Anwar arrived at Liverpool Crown Court with Mohammed Fahir Amaaz and Muhammad Amaad, where they face multiple charges related to the altercation with police officers on July 23, 2024. Amaaz is charged with two counts of causing actual bodily harm, one count of assaulting an emergency worker, and one count of common assault.
