Thousands of Pachika (cook-cum-helper) workers have taken to the streets at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar, staging a continuous day-and-night protest in front of the Assembly demanding their rights, as the workers allege that they have not received salaries for the past three months and are urging the government for immediate payment along with a wage hike; the protesting union has also demanded equal pay for equal work and official recognition, highlighting growing unrest among grassroots workers over delayed wages and employment conditions.
