The binding of the mainspring assembly is caused by two problems, I believe. The first is to fail to move the hammer to the fully upright position following the assembly of the barrel and bolt.
The second problem seems to be the closing of the mainspring assembly with the hammer strut not moving into the groove in the mainspring assembly. These mistakes will cause the hammer strut to bind when the mainspring assembly is closed.
When my mainspring assembly got into a bind and I couldn't remove it, I was able to shake the pistol which shook the hammer strut loose enabling me to open the mainspring assembly.
Another youtube video seems to have a fix to the mainspring binding problem, by maneuvering the hammer to its full upright position.

So be careful to make sure the hammer is in the full upright position after the barrel and bolt are assembled.
It took more learning to get the assembly down correctly, but I enjoy shooting this gun more than any other that I have shot because of the accuracy, comfortable grip, ease of use, proper placement of controls, feel of the trigger, and balance. I recommend it, but will tell you that you should follow assembly directions carefully and watch a few of the videos on youtube to make sure you do it right.
