Light brown shoes earned their place in menswear. Before that shift, navy suits only saw black or burgundy. Then cognac came in and added versatility. Warmth. Range.
Should you wear them in January with a charcoal suit? Probably not. But a khaki or tan suit in spring? Light brown shoes are the right move. Black would kill the tone.
Context matters. Daytime. Warm months. Lighter fabrics. That is when they work. Nighttime or winter? Go darker. But do not write them off entirely.
Fashion has room for everything if you use your brain.
