This is a brief overview of the final 31st Century Bounty, Validus. This isn't a Bounty that is practical to Solo, so instead we're going to cover the base mechanics and phases of the fight itself.
This is a timed Bounty, which is the major factor contributing to it being (almost) impossible to solo. I say "almost", because Galea is a never say never kinda gal. So you have about 6 minutes from the word "go" to get everything done.
This Bounty has multiple distinct phases that have completion requirements before you can move onto the next phase, and only one phase has mechanics that are optional.
This first phase will have you fighting (slightly) stripped-down versions of the Controlled Legionnaires. First you'll need to drop them each to 50% Health, which will cause the Validus containment cube to shatter. After that happens, Validus will be able to damage you using Ranged AOE attacks. These are telegraphed so pay attention and dodge accordingly.
The second phase will have you continuing to fight the Controlled Legionnaires until the Emerald Eye becomes vulnerable. Focus your attacks on the Eye at this time: you're going to have to defeat it to open the next phase. It does have a single-target multi hit Pulse Beam attack and will hit you with Orbital strikes, which can potentially kill you - this is happening while the remaining Legionnaires AND Validus are still attacking you.
After you defeat the Eye, Validus will be released: Validus is absolutely gigantic and has a few heavy AOE attacks to watch out for, in addition to a Dash. All of Validus' attacks deal tremendous damage and he (it?) is immune to Counters, as well as pretty much all Crowd Control. This is still your opportunity to deal some damage, so definitely focus on that first.
At this time, assuming you have a team with you, there are a couple of options: you can focus purely on damage output and try to beat Validus through straight output alone, or you can run the turret mechanics, which will make it somewhat easier to damage him (though I do recommend maintaining damage output while doing so).
This is an 8 Mark Weekly with a Reward Box, as well as a specialized currency reward for participation. Validus also has both countdown Feats and more specific conditional Feats for defeating him/it.
Good Luck!
