George Floyd’s death is a wake-up call for the world. But for Black Americans, it is only the latest outrage in a long history of violence and oppression. Michael Eric Dyson is a professor of sociology at Georgetown University who has written extensively about race relations. In 2017 he authored "Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America," which calls on white people to confront uncomfortable truths about racism – as he explains to Hari Sreenivasan.
