Hello all and welcome back!
I've often wondered at what the last few generations of smokers would think of what this pastime has evolved into?
I'm sure there were a few folks out there back then who had collections of pipes and tobaccos, but I think most people didn't give it thought beyond it was simply a way to get nicotine.
Every hobby evolves over time, whether that be forwards or backwards is unknown to most.
All I can say is this is where we are in the current temperature of our culture, and in my opinion it's moving in the right direction.
Thanks to the collectors and blenders, we have a near endless variety of tobaccos to choose from and carvers who create beautiful works of art with which we use to enjoy our tobacco.
Enjoy them while we all can!
