DIY Thunderbolt 3 Expansion Dock, using an Intel reference motherboard extracted from a Belkin expansion dock, flashed with Razer CoreX firmware. The power section utilizes a 750W CSPS power supply with platinum efficiency. I designed my own PCB board, thanks to JLC support. It uses the TI43060 solution with a 12V input and 20V output module, achieving 95% efficiency and a maximum output current of 10A.
I want to express my gratitude to Leaves on Zhihu for explaining the Thunderbolt concept and sharing firmware. Also, I want to thank Shuangqiu for designing the CSPS power board and JLC for their support of PCBs for enthusiasts.
This version of the boost circuit has some issues in the layout, with noise from MLCC during light loads. After making changes, I will open-source two PCBs with OSHWHub. The DCDC board will be a double-layer board, and the PCIe board will be a 4-layer board.
