GoldenEye 007 (Wii) 007 Classic Playthrough - Dam

Описание: This is part 1 of my capture of me playing through GoldenEye 007 for the Wii. This was recorded directly from my Wii (not the Wii U). I'm playing on 007 Classic difficulty.

I played the original GoldenEye on the Nintendo 64 within about a year of the game coming out. It was without a doubt an excellent game, especially for multiplayer, but I didn’t buy my own copy until nearly 20 years later. Instead, I mostly played the game at friends’ houses, or I simply rented it.

When Activision later announced a remake of GoldenEye for the Wii in 2009 using Daniel Craig, I took one look at the footage and immediately realized that the game wasn’t truly GoldenEye. Instead, it was Call of Duty lite masquerading as GoldenEye.

I had no interest in buying the game, especially because of how much I enjoyed the Conduit series on the Wii, but my friend Peter gave me GoldenEye for Christmas of 2011, so I decided to give the game a shot. I found that the multiplayer was enjoyable, but highly flawed, so I played online matches occasionally whenever Conduit 2 gave me problems, or when I simply wanted some variety. Unfortunately, it took a long time to level up in multiplayer and unlock additional weapons, but I ran into some hacked XP lobbies that boosted me to max rank much quicker.

GoldenEye of course supported pointer controls with the Wii Remote and nunchuck, but they were finicky and prone to locking up on occasion. One thing that really annoyed me was how my view would automatically tilt up or down while walking on a slope instead of staying level. I found the only way to disable this stupid feature was to go into the menu options and disable my view from automatically leveling out altogether. While the pointer controls are certainly usable in this game, they are far from ideal and lag far behind the Conduit series.

Not too long after I received this game I tried a few missions in the single player but quickly lost interest due to the cinematic nature of the game. Until now, I’ve never even beaten the game.

There are four difficulty modes in this game, with the highest level being 007 Classic. On this difficulty level, you have no regenerating health (similar to the original N64 game) and have to rely on body armor for protection while completing all of the mission objectives. This isn’t a big deal to me since I’m used to this setup from various Nintendo 64 games, but I find that this difficulty setting does require strict memorization of guard locations, as well as constant use of cover-based shooting. Anyway, enjoy the playthrough.
