Atari 2600 & 7800 gaming with the X-Arcade Tankstick Trackball & Tron 80's Arcade Controller (vid51)

Описание: The aim for today's video is to show you methods that enable the X-Arcade Tankstick Trackball and Tron 80's Arcade Multicontroller (which was put together in Wired-Up Retro episode 44) to work on the Atari 2600 and 7800 game consoles. I'll be showing you what adapters you'll need to buy, and the good news is that every one of the adapters shown in today's video is currently made available on various websites here in 2020.

There are three diagrams for the setup of the adapters which I showed in today's presentation, and I've made them available for you to have and utilize:

1) Method 1 is about getting the X-Arcade Tankstick Trackball (a PC controller) and the "mouse buttons" on the left and right sides of the unit into action on your Atari 2600 and 7800. This supports the 2 button games on the 7800. This method may also work on Atari 8 bit computers, but has not been tried on them.

2) Method 2 is about getting my PC/PS3 Tron 80's Arcade Multicontroller trackball, spinner, joystick and a single button working on the Atari 2600 and 7800. This requires 8 cables/adapters, and has no known issues.

3) Method 3 is about getting the Tron 80's Arcade Multicontroller trackball, spinner, joystick, and buttons working on the Atari 7800 (not the 2600). This is a method that can be used by fans of the 7800 who want to play the two button games, and requires around 10 cables/adapters, and has a small issue with less-than-perfect vertical motion of the trackball. But the spinner control and Tron stick control are spot-on.
