We planted our onions in a 4′ x 16′ raised bed that my husband built, spacing them at about 4 onion bulbs per square foot.

🧅 Onion varieties planted:
150 Texas Sweet onions
75 red onions
75 white onions
These are short-day onions, which are best suited for our Zone 8a garden. Short-day onions begin forming bulbs when daylight reaches about 10–12 hours, making them ideal for southern and warmer growing zones.
We purchased our onion bulbs from our local hardware store, and they were supplied by Dutch Valley Growers.
