JK News : Chering Dorjey Lakruk Welcomes Revocation of Sonam Wangchuk’s Detention
Co-Chairman of Apex Body Leh, Chering Dorjey Lakruk, welcomed the decision to revoke the detention of environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk and expressed satisfaction over the development.
Lakruk said the decision clearly indicates that Wangchuk had done nothing wrong and that the allegations against him were unfounded. He also noted that the case was scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court on March 17, but the authorities revoked the detention a few days before the hearing.
According to Lakruk, the authorities may have anticipated the possible outcome of the case and therefore decided to revoke the detention ahead of the court proceedings.
