Washington, DC…the DMV….the District. Home of the DC Defenders and one of the most passionate fan bases in the United States. DC fans have had their nerves tested time and time again over the past few years. From a town that has a rich history of world championships, in recent years Washington DC has been smacked in the face with disappoint after disappointment with poor performances and close to last place outcomes from their Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, Washington Nationals, DC United and don’t even get me started on that dumpster fire of a team a few miles down the way in Landover with the Washington Commanders. All of these DC franchises have won World Championships in their hay day, but there is one present day team in DC with a sliver of hope for this passionate and loyal DC fan base. One team that has the organization, the coaching, the players, and some of the rowdiest fans with the largest beer snake in the league to make a run back to the new UFL championship game. And that team is the DC Defenders! Today, I am going to take a deep dive into the DC Defenders franchise and analyze their 2024 roster and coaching staff, and how the Defenders came to be one of the top teams in the UFL.
