Pet surrenders increase at Snohomish County animal shelter amid rising costs

Описание: A growing number of pet owners are surrendering their animals as costs continue to rise on many goods and services.

The PAWS Animal Shelter in Lynnwood is seeing a 37% increase in pet surrenders.

"The majority of people who have a pet they don't want to surrender their animal," Jennifer Convy, the senior director of PAWS, said.

A report from Seattle-based Rover, an online marketplace for pet care services, shows dog owners are paying up to 7% more and cat owners are paying up to 10% more this year compared to last year.
