Beihai Old Street - Zhuhai Road is an old street with a history of nearly 200 years. It was first built in 1821 and was called Shengping Street when it was first built. It was only 200 meters long and 4 meters wide. With the continuous development in various historical periods, it has now become an old commercial street with a length of 1.44 kilometers and a width of 9 meters, with a combination of Chinese and Western arcade-style buildings along the street.

Most of these buildings are two to three stories. They are mainly influenced by Western scroll-style buildings such as the consulates built by Britain, France, Germany and other countries in our city at the end of the 19th century. The window tops on the walls on both sides of the street are mostly scroll arch structures. There are carved lines on the outer edge of the arch and the top of the window pillars, with smooth lines and exquisite craftsmanship. Different styles of decorations and reliefs on the street-facing walls form two sets of aerial sculpture corridors in the north and south. The arcade part of these buildings facing the street is both an extension of the road to both sides and an extension of the pavement to the outside. People walking under the arcade can protect themselves from wind and rain and avoid the scorching sun. The square pillars of the arcade are thick and thick, which is quite reminiscent of ancient Rome. architectural style.
