This film was shot in Brazil. Lynda Day, who was 22 years old at the time, plays Judy, a New York City girl who jets to Rio de Janeiro in order to forget her annulled marriage. There she meets Bill (Chris George) a brooding mute and an architect demoted to a draftsman. They fall in love but then....

This film was their first performance together but was also the first big screen picture for each of them. Chris George was new to acting and Lynda Day was at this time a model for the Ford Modeling Agency, as well as Eileen Ford's caretaker to the Ford children.

The motion picture became well known at the time for its score, which was composed by Luiz Bonfa, with orchestra arranged & conducted by Eumir Deodato. The title single from the soundtrack "The Gentle Rain" ("Chuva Delicada") is a 1965 bossa nova composition by Luiz Bonfá, with lyrics by Matt Dubey. It has been covered over 200 times by the likes of Quincy Jones, Barbara Streisand, Irene Krall, Sarah Vaughn and Tony Bennett.

While the film may be forgettable to critics and historians today, it's not a bad film and even an interesting one. Truly, apart from the musical score, the film holds a special place in the heart of Lynda Day George, who discusses its significance to her in her coming book "Lynda Day George: A Hollywood Memoir."
