10. SOUNDBITE (French) Philippe de Saint Robert, Delegation Leader, Volunteers For Peace:
"The drama is above all a problem for Europe, because we're being told everyday that Europe is being built, but what do we see in Europe? We see England which is following US policy like a poodle, while France and Germany are more objective in their policies, more independent. So once again it's been proved that Europe isn't really good for anything, and that it would be better for each country to follow its own good policy and that France looks after its own basic policy and that should be an independent policy. We should listen to our own. 76 percent of French people are against the war, and against the participation of France in the war."

12. SOUNDBITE (French) Giles Mounier, Delegation member, Volunteers For Peace:
"European civilians from various European countries are ready to go to Iraq to form a human chain to prevent the Americans from bombing Baghdad, just as civilians helped to protect Palestinians in Ramallah to prevent the Israelis killing Palestinians, and from allowing Sharon to expel Arafat from Palestine. We are going to do the same thing, I hope, in Iraq."

STORYLINE:
United Nations (UN) weapons inspectors conducted their first search of a private home on Thursday, entering a two-story building in a west Baghdad residential district.
The house belongs to an Iraqi nuclear scientist, according to neighbours in the al-Ghazalia district, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
There was nothing conspicuous about the house, suggesting the inspectors were acting on a tip supplied by intelligence sources.
The inspectors cordoned off the street by parking their UN vehicles across the road at both ends. During the inspection, some inspectors came out of the house and went into a a vacant plot of land where they searched what appeared to be a squatter's shack.
Iraqi security officials did not allow reporters to follow the inspectors who made no comment on their work.
A second team of inspectors visited a site belonging to the Iranian dissident group, the Mujahedeen Khalq, 30 kilometers (20 miles) west of Baghdad, in an area called Abu Ghraib.
It was their second search of a Mujahedeen Khalq site in two days.
The group seeks the overthrow of the Iranian government and has military bases in eastern Iraq along the Iranian border.
It often claims responsibility for rocket and mortar attacks inside Iran.
The United States regards the group as a terrorist organisation.
Also on Thursday, a French peace delegation called for Europeans to rise up against a possible war.
Giles Mounier, a delegation member of Volunteers for Peace, said European civilians were prepared to go to Iraq to form a human chain in Baghdad to prevent possible US bombings.
The seven-strong delegation arrived in Baghdad this week and have visited a number of sites identified as suspect by Western governments.
