Ident for "Iron Circus Animation"

Описание: In January 2023, during the production of the animated credits sequence for Lackadaisy: The Animated Short Film, I was contacted by Iron Circus to produce the ident for "Iron Circus Animation", the logo animation that would appear at the beginning of Lackadaisy.

I spearheaded the entire production, from concepts to 3D assets, animation to final composite. The prompt was "scrappy, DIY, rusty metal, weirdness and tenacity"; My thoughts went to tin toys of the late 19th and early 20th century, with the idea of them all being part of a larger unknowable machine. I also tried to lean into a sort of stop-motion feel, to help sell the scrappy / DIY vibes.

Lackadaisy's release schedule also necessitated the fast-tracked production of a simpler ident, so the final element of the ident was the first to be completed: the camera dollying out to reveal a giant turning gear, and then fading to the final logo. The rest of the ident was animated and composited in the film's final week of production, and the result is what you see here!
