most bluetooth speakers use some kind of a DSP(digital signal processoer) system in order to prevent distortion at hige levels
that creates a hugh difference dynamic wise between different vol levels.

every speaker has its own sweet spot which from my tests of different speakers is ususally between 60-80% vol level.

that somtimes heavy processing creates a reduction of bass and an increase in mids and highs to prevent distortion, and comes out as
very compressed sounding.

this video demonstrates this effect
best advice is to find that sweet spot and not go up to eleven !!!
